Introducing the youth of Holts Summit to today’s fire and emergency medical services, emphasizing community service and civic involvement through positive mentoring, training, education and career development.

This program is for individuals between the ages of 14 and 21 to learn about fire safety and firefighting. Those enrolled will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the fire and medical equipment used by the Holts Summit Fire Protection District. Explorers will learn about emergency fire service and what they can do to promote fire safety in their community by training alongside our firefighters. The command staff works hard to make sure the explorer training nights are fun and informative, preparing young men and women to help our community when help is needed.

Founded as a volunteer fire department in 1970, and becoming a Fire Protection District in 1988, the Holts Summit Fire Protection District has been proudly serving the citizens of Southwest Callaway County for more than 40 years. The department currently has two fire stations serving our citizens. Station 1, located at the intersection of Center Street and South Summit in Holts Summit, houses the departments administrative staff, primary response apparatus, and training facility/community room. Station 2, located at the intersection of Highway AA and County Road 4044, houses additional apparatus.
