The fire district is always accepting applications for volunteer firefighters and auxiliary members that meet the minimum qualifications. To volunteer you must be 18 years old, have no criminal background, references, and pass an interview with chief officers. If you would like to submit an application, please click here.

The Fire District does not have any burning regulations. We urge individuals that want to burn yard waste to use caution.

9-1-1 should be used for reporting all emergencies.

Some examples of emergencies include:

  • When you see smoke or fire
  • When someone’s life and/or property are in immediate danger
  • When rescue or emergency medical assistance is needed
  • When you are not sure, call and let trained personnel decide

Founded as a volunteer fire department in 1970, and becoming a Fire Protection District in 1988, the Holts Summit Fire Protection District has been proudly serving the citizens of Southwest Callaway County for more than 40 years. The department currently has two fire stations serving our citizens. Station 1, located at the intersection of Center Street and South Summit in Holts Summit, houses the departments administrative staff, primary response apparatus, and training facility/community room. Station 2, located at the intersection of Highway AA and County Road 4044, houses additional apparatus.
